Saved our Birthday Weekend, Great for Our Large Group!

After our initial birthday plans were cancelled due to fires, finding a place with availability for 9 was a such a great surprise. We were looking for anywhere within driving distance of the valley. What we got with this cabin was so much more. We're already talking about making this the main destination next year. It may have been built in 1929, but it's been kept much nicer than many of newer places we've stayed. If you're coming here with plans of hitting the valley, be prepared to skip the drive and just spend the day relaxing on the deck, listening to the creek and sipping coffee in the breakfast nook. Plenty of room for cooking family meals for our group. We even all fit at the farmhouse style table in the dining room. We played cards and ate dessert in the nook, and when we were ready to wind down with a movie, we all fit comfortably on the large sofa in the living room. Beds were soft and cozy. Plenty of linens and the blankets were warm. The weather said 93* in Oakhurst, but the cabin, being nestled near the creak beneath the trees never got about 75*. I really can't think of a bad thing to say. Part of me wants to keep this our little secret, but it's just too great not to share. Cheers!

Wonderful cabin tucked in the woods

The Davis Cabin was a perfect space for our weekend trip. We loved the size of the house. It was perfect for two families with kids. The parents stayed downstairs and the kids shared the rooms upstairs. We had a BBQ dinner one night and then played games and watched a movie another night. The kids loved playing in the creek and we took a walk up the path. The location is only 20 minutes from Bass Lake and 15 minutes from a few great hikes.

Beautiful, clean and a perfect place to getaway

This place is well placed for visiting Yosemite! Had all the wanted amenities, namely a warm showers and soft beds. Would stay again when visiting the park!

Cozy, Amazing Home in the Woods

We had the most wonderful experience at the Davis house! Nestled in this quiet, forest surrounding, falling asleep to sound of a gentle creek flowing by. Our family of 5 had more than enough room, the wooden home, with claw foot tub, cabinets and original cubby’s, was so welcoming, like staying with a dear old friend! We had everything we needed, beds so comfortable, kitchen easy to use, laundry very handy, and the huge comfy couch is where we spent our mornings together. Every night we met around the fire ring outside for s’mores and to gaze up at the pine filled scenery. Wild turkeys ran up the hill as we sat on the front porch swing. Your home stopped time for this busy family, there was an immediate peacefulness we felt. It was a shift in our perspectives. Yosemite just clicks away. We will be back. Thank you so much!

The Perfect Cabin

This was the perfect cabin for our last family trip before school starts. Vey spacious for our three kiddos (8,6, and 1) and within walking distance to a creek and pond (which our girls LOVED to feed the ducks each morning). You are also very close to Bass Lake, horseback riding, and the Yosemite Train which we did all three. We also loved all of the board games available! Overall, very cozy and cute and we hope to be back soon!!

Spacious with a Beautiful View

The house was spacious and had a beautiful view. The house was very clean and in a great location. The only issue was that the propane tanks for the grill were on the honor system and no other guests had filled them so they were empty when we arrived. We filled one of the tanks in order to try and help out future guests. Other than that, the house was great and I would come here again.

Wonderful Cabin Deep in the Woods

We really enjoyed staying in this unique and historic cabin. The location is idyllic, deep in the woods directly next to a stream. Sleeping with the windows open, the sounds of the stream and the fresh, cool air made for some of the best nights of rest we've all had in awhile. It's relatively close to Yosemite and the Mariposa Grove, but also close to Bass Lake and Oakhurst. This was the perfect spot for our long overdue getaway.
